Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. She has released over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk and alternative rock although it has additional influence from hip music and jazz. Ani DiFranco was among the first musician to start her own record label in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd, 1970. She was she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had met while attending in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian heritage and her mother came born in Montreal. Ani diFranco was the composer and singer of the song 32 Flavors. This track is on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. On the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a version of the song. DiFranco apologised in 2013 when it was announced that she would be hosting a three day workshop at a Louisiana plantation for slaves.
